A note from Bobby Medina

I’m looking forward to seeing my NY Stickball Family after missing out last year. Sorry to hear that the Whompers will not be making the trip. They have always proven themselves to be a force to reckon with. Very glad that the HEAT out of Miami will be making their 2nd appearance in as many years.
Traveling is always a struggle for us all. Particularly for The Hurricanes. We love to participate in everyone’s event and usually it means 2 trips per year … New York for MDT and wherever the LDT is being hosted. Unfortunately, times are tough and we cannot make it to SD this year. We had a great time on our last visit.
After missing last year’s MDT as a HURRICANE team (some played with Rockets & Heat last year) … We made a conscious decision to return with a HURRICANE traveling team this year. As always in order to travel we depend on the help of our friends. This year we have quite a mix … recruiting 4 players from PR (Tainos & Rookies) and 2 players from the Tampa Goblins. Combined with 4 of our core HURRICANE players and myself and Eddie (ex “original” Tamiami HEAT) as coaches and subs … I think we have put together a team that should not let you down if it is competition that you are looking for. As much as we love this sport and our Stickball Family … We come to compete for a shot at that ever elusive CHIP … Unless you are team GOLD … they seem to get a CHIP every time you blink … lol. So come ready for this year’s HURRICANE traveling team … we’re coming to play … and we ain’t playin’ (if you know what I mean)  ;-}
Something else that is new from our HURRICANE team … I have turned over the team to Jose Martinez. I’ve been looking to hand this over to someone for a while now. Jose has stepped up to the plate and is doing a fine job for us. I hope you all will give him some of that good Stickball love that I have enjoyed all of these years as team manager. We are all behind him and look forward to many more years of quality HURRICANE STICKBALL.
See all you guys soon … May 27th cannot come soon enough.
Much Love,
Bobby Medina
