Week 1 Recaps

Game of the Week
Ravens 8 Vs Gold 7 – At the beginning of this game, this looked like a blowout as Gold struck for 3 HR’s early (Raul, Josh and Alex). I was even told, some Game of the Week! The Ravens were mot going to quit and came back with fury as Brunson and Al Jr hit homers of their own. Brunson drove in 4 runs and Al Jr drove in a pair along with Elvin. For The Gold, Raul drove in 3 and Alex drove in 2 runs.

Other games
Emperors 10 Vs Royals 8 – Emps held on to the victory as the Royals mounted a late comeback. Ruben’s line drive with the tying run on 2nd was certainly unlucky as it just cleared the low gate outside of the school on field #1. Caban proved why he was the 2012 MVP, hitting 3 HR’s, 6 RBIs while going 4 for 4. Eric drove in 3 runs in the loss.
Leland 1 Vs Saints 0 – Leland earns a week 1 shutout while blanking the Saints. Doug’s RBI proved to be enough to earn a victory. Neither team was able to put together too many consecutive hits as the defenses were snatching everything in sight.
Gold 4 Vs Bandits 2 – I figured this one would be lop-sided but it was anything but that. Bandits held their own against the Champs on the high scoring field #3. Dusty drove in 2 runs; Carlito and Betances drove in a run each. Newcomer Chris, last name unknown, went 3-3 and drove in both runs for the Bandits.
Stem 3 Vs Diamondbacks 2 – Stem’s DJ drove in 2 while hitting a HR for the Stem. He was 2-3 in this game. Davey was the only other Stem player with a multi-hit game, 2-3. Martin’s 2 run blast accounted for the DBacks only runs.
Emperors 4 Vs Ravens 0 – Emps blanked the Ravens while putting up a crooked number. Hey look, Caban, did not hit a HR in this game! (I wonder what happened). He did hit the only extra base hit of the game. Four Emperors players drove in a run. Ravens could only put together 3 hits in the losing effort.
Saints 2 Vs Royals 1 – I guess all the hype of new players didn’t exactly work out for the Royals in week 1. Warfield and Joey each drove in a run in the victory. Warfield’s 2 doubles were the only extra base hits of the game. Lenny drove in a run for his new team in the loss.
Stem 3 Vs Bandits 0 – The Bandits collected several hits but couldn’t put them together to score a run. Stem’s DJ accounted for all his team’s runs as he hit a HR and a double while driving in 3 runs. Cotto was the only Bandits player with a multi-hit game.
Leland 4 Vs Diamondbacks 2 – This game was allot closer than what I thought it might total. Leland scores just enough to win by two. Izzy, 2-3, drove in a pair for Leland. For the Dbacks, Chris and Schenkel drove in a run each in the loss.
See you on the Blvd!
