Week 10 & Week 11 Recap

My apologies for no weekly updates the past two stickball weeks. Due to no weekly updates for week 10 and week 11, I will be updating everyone with what each team has done in those two weeks. Here is a quick look at how each team has done their last four games (Week 10 and Week 11).

Gold (17-2-1):

The Gold have been on a tear all season, losing only two games and going on a 12 game win streak. Week 10, the Gold continued their winning ways with a 9 – 2 win over the Royals on field 3. In their second game, the Gold beat the Leland Legends, 2 – 0, on field 1.  Week 11, the Gold defeated the Saints 12 – 1 on field 3. The Gold`s second game had the same result, as they defeated the Diamondbacks 8 – 2.

Royals (12-6-1):

The Royals had a great start to the season but after losing key players, they dropped out of 1st place. During weeks 10 and 11, the Royals went 3-1. Week 10, the Royals lost to the Gold, 9 – 2, on field 3. They bounced back with a 6 – 4 win over the Saints on field 2. Week 11, the Royals defeated the Diamondbacks, 9 – 5, on field 1. The Royals` second game had the same result, as they defeated the Leland Legends, 8 – 2, on field 3.

Leland Legends (11-9-2):

The Leland Legends have made a huge statement this season but week 10 and week 11 did not have the outcome the Legends wanted. During weeks 10 and 11, the Leland Legends went 1-3. Week 10, the Leland Legends lost to the Gold, 2 – 0, on field 1. Their offensive struggles continued as they lost their second game to Sugar Hill, 2 – 0, on field 3. Week 11, Leland lost their first game to the Royals by the score of 8 – 2, on field 3. Leland finally got on the win column with a 7 – 1 win over the Ravens on field 2.

 Sugar Hill (12-7-2):

Sugar Hill has quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league. During weeks 10 and 11, Sugar Hill went 2-1-1. Week 10, Sugar Hill tied with the Diamondbacks, 2 – 2, on field 2. Their defense helped them to a 2 – 0 win over the Leland Legends, on field 3, in their second game. Week 11, Sugar Hill lost their first game to the Emperors by the score of 4 – 3, on field 2. They bounced back with a big 5 – 1 win over the Silver Bullets, on field 3.

Emperors (12-4-3):

The Emperors have had a solid season and their defense lead them to a 3-0-1 record during week 10 and week 11. Week 10, the Emperors defeated the Silver Bullets 4 – 1, on field 3. They tied the Ravens 1 – 1 on field 2, thanks to Rich`s clutch solo home-run. Week 11, the Emperors beat both Sugar Hill and the Saints by the score of 4 – 3.

Silver Bullets (10-10-1):

The Silver Bullets finally got their full team back for the regular season and have climbed back to a .500 Record. During weeks 10 and 11, the Silver Bullets went 2 – 2. Week 10, the Silver Bullets lost to the Emperors, 4 – 1, on field 3. In their second game, the Bullets beat the Diamondbacks, 3 – 1, on field 1. Week 11, the Silver Bullets` offense lead them to a 7 – 1 win over the Ravens, on field 1. They struggled their second game, falling to Sugar Hill by the score of 5 – 1, on field 3.

Diamondbacks (5-12-4):

The Diamondbacks have not played to their full potential this year after coming off their best season in the NYESL in 2016. During weeks 10 and 11, the Diamondbacks went 0-3-1. Week 10, the Diamondbacks tied with Sugar Hill, 2 – 2, on field 2. In their second game, they fell to the Silver Bullets, 3 – 1, on field 1. Week 11, the Diamondbacks lost their first game to the Royals by the score of 9 -5, on field 1 and lost their second game to the Gold by the score of 8 – 2, on field 2.

Ravens (2-18-1):

The Ravens have struggled all season long due to missing multiple key players every week. During weeks 10 and 11, the Ravens went 0-3-1. Week 10, the Ravens lost to the Saints, 5 – 3, on field 1. The Ravens almost walked away with a win against the Emperors but settled for a 1 – 1 tie on field 2. Week 11, the Ravens lost their games against the Silver Bullets and against the Leland Legends by the score of 7 – 1.

Saints (2-16-3):

The Saints find themselves in last place, behind the Ravens, trying to find a way to get into the playoffs as the 8th seed. During weeks 10 and 11, the Saints went 1 – 3. Week 10, the Saints beat the Ravens, 5 – 3, on field 1. They lost a close one against the Royals by the score of 6 – 4, on field 2. Week 11 was not a good week for the Saints. The mercy rule came in to play as the Saints lost to the Gold, 12 – 1. In their second game, the Saints lost to the Emperors in another close game, 4 – 3.
