Game of the Week
Leland 10 Vs Emperors 3– Maybe we should scrap the “Game of the Week” from the previews, because once again it turned out to be nothing but hype. Leland erupted for 8 runs in the third inning to put this game away early. The third inning was highlighted by Dave’s two-run double and a three-run double by Russ. Multiple players on Leland had multiple hits, but they were led by Edwin’s 3 hits and Russ’ three hit, 4 RBI effort. Ricky led the Emperors with 2 RBI’s and Ant-Live was the only Emperor to have a multi-hit game.
D’Backs 0 Vs Gold 9– The Gold made easy work of the D’Backs in this 9-0 win. The Gold scored in every inning except for one in this game. Dusty set the tone early with a HR in the first to give the Gold and early 2-0 lead. He added his second HR of the game in the 5th to cap off a 5 RBI performance. Pito was 3 for 3, drove in 2 runs, and was HR short of the cycle. Josh also had a 3 for 3 game and was a triple short of the cycle. The D’Backs just couldn’t buy a hit in this one as they kept trying to drive the ball in the outfield, but were repeatedly turned away by Gold’s stellar defense. Tutu was the lone bright spot for the D’Backs with his 2 doubles.
Stem 0 Vs Ravens 14– The Ravens had their way with the short-handed Stem in this mercy rule blowout. After jumping out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, the Ravens put up an 8 spot in the third, highlighted by a 3-run HR by Efrain. Al Jr., Chungo, Eddie B, Gil and Dax all had 3 hits each for the Ravens. Stem only managed to record 2 hits in this game courtesy of Joey and X. Stem has struggled to field their regular players in recent weeks and the results haven’t been good.
Bandits 3 Vs Saints 5– The Bandits showed up on Sunday and played the Saints tough after last week’s hiatus. With the Saints up by a score of 2-1 in the fifth inning, the Bandits took a 3-2 lead courtesy of Tony’s 2-run double. But just as they have all season long, the Saints battled back in the bottom half of the inning to regain the lead. With two outs and nobody on base, the Saints got four consecutive hits from Mike, Peter Jr., Mick and Ron the regain the lead. The Saints defense took care of the rest as they held the Bandits in check. Mick led the Saints with two doubles and 2 runs driven in. Tony drove in all three runs for the Bandits. .
Leland 5 Vs Royals 2– The Royals jumped out to an early lead as they scored in the first off an RBI double from Eric, and extended the lead to 2-0 with Darnell’s RBI single in the third. Leland answered back and took the lead in the 4th with an RBI double from Dougie, and a two-run single from Edwin. The Royals tried to make some noise in the seventh inning by bringing the tying runner to the plate. Frankie gave one a ride with the wind blowing out but the ball tailed off and landed foul. Izzy had 3 hits for Leland and Dave hit another HR. Frankie, Eric, and Darnell has 2 hits each for the Royals. .
Gold 2 Vs Saints 3– At the beginning of the season, few people would have predicted the Saints would be within striking distance of first place with one week to go in the regular season. Yet here we are. This matchup featured the league’s two top teams and did not disappoint. The Saints took a 1-0 lead in the first courtesy of an RBI single from Josh. Dusty continued to add to his outstanding season in the third with a game tying RBI single. The Gold then took the lead in the fourth when Alex drove in Stevie with an RBI single. The Saints responded in the bottom of the fifth and tied the game when Mick drove in Mike with an RBI double. So here we are. The leagues number 1 and 2 teams tied entering the seventh inning. The Gold went down 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh and that set the stage for the Saints in the bottom of the 7th. The Saints have refused to give into anyone this year and this was game was no different. Pete and Josh hit back to back singles, and Mick came through with the clutch walk off hit to win the game. Alex was the only Gold player with a multi-hit game, while Josh led the Saints with a 4 for 4 effort. .

With the game tied at zero in the fourth inning, the Emperors scored 3 runs to take the lead. Forty, Ant-Live, and Tito each had RBI singles in the fourth. The D’Backs tried to rally back in the top of the fifth as Jay hit a 2-run double to bring the D’Backs within 1 run. But that was as close as the D’Backs would come as the Emperors held on for the 3-2 win. Mark had three hits for the D’Backs, while Caban and Tito each had two hits to lead the Emperors. .
Ravens 6 Vs Bandits 0– Fresh after serving up a donut in their first came, the Ravens were feeling generous and decided to serve out another one much to the disappointment of the Bandits. Gil hit a two run HR in the first to give the Ravens a 2-0 lead, and then hit an RBI single in the second to make it 3-0. Al Jr. added a 2-run single later in the inning to make it 5-0, and then hit a HR of his own to extend the lead in the fourth. The Bandits didn’t offense didn’t put up much of a fight and only managed to record 3 hits, with two of them coming from Tone. .
Stem 0 Vs Royals 6– Stems struggles would continue in this game as they were shutout for the second time on Sunday against the Royals. Kevin gave the Royals the 1-0 lead in the second with an RBI double. Adam and Chris each hit RBI doubles in the third to extend the lead to 3-0.
