Week 5 Preview- GOTW- Leland vs Emperors

Game of the Week: Emperors (4-3-1) vs Leland (5-1-2) – Leland and the Emperors come into this week having swept their games in week 4 and clash in the weeks very first game. Both teams want to keep the momentum going heading into Memorial Day weekend.  Leland took the first match-up by a score of 4-3 courtesy of a late inning comeback and have not lost since week 1.  The Emperors defense almost pitched a shutout in week 4 as they gave up just 1 run in two games.  These two teams always play close games and this weeks match-up should be no different.
D’Backs (1-5-2) vs Devils (3-3-2) – The Devils came back down to earth in week 4 as they dropped two tough games.  Their bats started off good in both games, but quickly fizzled after scoring early.  The D’Backs managed to salvage a tie in week 4 against the Royals with a timely HR, but were unable to keep the momentum going in the second game as the offense only managed 2 hits.  The Devils had their way with the D’Backs in their first match-up and hope the D’Backs are just what the doctor ordered to get back on track.
D’Backs (1-5-2) vs Ravens (1-7) – Both the Ravens and D’Backs come into this game having won only one time in 2014.  The Ravens offense has struggled with injuries and a depleted lineup, while the D’Backs have been competitive in most of their games but faltered late in quite a few.  After just managing to get 3 hits total in week 4, the Ravens need to snap out of this funk they have been in a get a win anyway they can.  Their only win came against the D’Backs so we all know the D’Backs will be looking to avenge that loss.
Emperors(4-3-1) vs Royals (6-1-1) – The Emperors defense looks to be rounding into form as they come into week 5 giving up the fewest runs in the league.  The Royals come into this game with the leagues number 1 offense scoring 5.5 runs a game and have multiple players who are top 10 in the league in hitting.  All that gets thrown out the window when these two teams meet. The Emperors will be looking even the season series as they dropped the first match-up to the Royals in week 2.
Saints (2-4-2) vs Leland (5-1-2) – The Saints offense broke their trend of starting slow offensively in week 4 as they had their best offensive showing of the year.  Leland, just like the Emperors, is known for their defense and started to show it off last week as they gave up just 1 run in two games.  Leland is just 2 points out of first place and will do their best to try and take over first heading into Memorial day weekend.  The Saints had no answer for Leland in week 2 and suffered their worst loss of the year in their first match-up.
Gold (5-3) vs Devils (3-3-2) – The first time these two teams met, the Devils shocked the Gold with a comeback win in the seventh inning.  The Gold offense has been hit or miss in the last few games. They lost their last game to Leland, but in their previous two wins, the offense looked to be sleepwalking before erupting for crooked numbers late. They seem to have that on and off switch that most teams don’t have. The Devils struggled in week 4 for the first time this season and will try to shake it off and get back to winning games.
Saints (2-4-2) vs Royals (6-1-1) – The Saints are still try to find that magic that made last season so special and have been unable to capture it thus far.  The Saint offense got going last week and will need to keep it going if they are going to beat the first place Royals.  The Royals have been able to mask their suspect defense by out-slugging their opponents.  The Royals opened the season against these Saints and won in convincing fashion.  The Saints are looking to even up the series but wil have to bring the defense if they want to win.
Gold (5-3) vs Ravens (1-7) – The Ravens second game in week 5 doesn’t get any easier as they face off against the defending champion Gold. If the Ravens don’t have their full squad this week they will need someone to step up and give this team a lift.  The Gold will do everything in their power to keep the Ravens down in the basement.  The Gold took the first match-up in week 1 and will look to do the same this time around.
