Week Three Recap

Leland Legends 1 – Royals 4:

After a scoreless top half of the 1st inning, the Royals would get on the board in the bottom half of the inning. Chey and Frankie got the team going early with back to back singles. Eric drove both runners in, giving the Royals a 2 – 0 lead.The offense for both teams went cold until the bottom of the 4th inning. Ruben and Jonathan hit back to back singles and Adam drove them in with an RBI single. Leland cut the deficit to 2 runs after scoring in the top of the 6th inning. Jake and Eddie tried to spark a rally as both men reached base safely. Veteran, Doug, drove in Jake with an RBI single but that is all Leland would get. The Royals got that run back in the bottom half of that inning. With two outs, Jonathan hit a double and Adam came up big again with another RBI single, making the score 4 – 1. The Royals went on to hold on to this lead and walked away with another victory.

Ravens 7 – Leland Legends 4:

The Ravens got on the board first. In the top half of the 1st inning, Dax led the game off with a single. Ed hit a single as well and Nelson drove in Dax with an RBI single, giving the Ravens an early 1 – 0 lead. Leland answered back with a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Warren Sr. hit a double and Freddy hit a sacrifice fly to drive him in. The Ravens broke the tie in the next inning with three runs. Danny hit a single and Nelson drove him in with an RBI double. Artie hit a big RBI triple and Tim drove in Artie with an RBI single. Leland answered back with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Jon got the team going with a solo home-run. Eddie hit a double, Doug drove him in with another double and Arod followed that up with an RBI double of his own, making the score 4 – 4 after 3 innings. In the top half of the 4th, the Ravens kept their offense going. Dax and Ed both hit singles giving the Ravens runners on 1st and 2nd with two out and their hottest hitter at the plate. Nelson came up big again with a 2 RBI single, giving the Ravens the lead again. Leland could not get their bats going after this. In the top of the 7th inning, Nelson put the icing on the cake with a solo home-run, making it a 4 for 4 day at the plate.

Royals 6 – Diamondbacks 4:

The Royals got on the scoreboard in the second inning. Kevin reached on a single and Ruben reached on a double. With runners on second and third, Jonathan hit a 2 RBI double to give the Royals the early 2 – 0 lead. In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Diamondbacks cut the lead in half thanks to a double by Naz and an RBI single by Joey. The Royals answered right back in the next in with 2 runs. After singles by Darnell and Eric, Dave hit a 2 RBI double, making the score 4 – 2. The Diamonbacks` offense got those two runs back in the bottom half of the inning. With runners on second and third, Naz hit a 2 RBI single to cut the deficit to 1 run. The Royals added some insurance runs in the top half of the 7th inning. After Chey and Frankie`s back to back singles, Eric hit an RBI single and Dave hit an RBI double making the score 6 – 3. The Diamondbacks tried to get something going in the bottom half of the 7th. After Naz`s single, Martin drove him in with an RBI single but 1 run is all they got. The Royals won 6 – 4.

Ravens 0 – Silver Bullets 12:

After a scoreless top of the 1st, the Silver Bullets` offense came alive in the bottom half of the inning. David Jr. and AJ reached base on singles. Russel`s fielders choice drove in a run. After Lou`s single, Jayden hit a 2 RBI double. Dave drove in Jayden with a single. Jay also joined the hit parade with an RBI double, making the score 5 – 0. The Ravens could not get their offense going and the Silver Bullets took advantage. In the bottom half of the 4th inning, the Silver Bullets put the game away. After Austin hit a double, AJ and Russel hit back to back singles to load the bases. Lou drove in 1 run with a sac fly. Jayden hit an RBI double and Dave followed that up with a 2 RBI double. Then Luca recorded his first 2 RBI single. David Jr. put the finishing touches with a 2 run home-run. The Silver Bullets went on to win by the score of 12 – 0.

Emperors 6 – Saints 2:

It took the Emperors three innings to open the scoring in this game and they did so by rallying three runs with four straight, 1 out hits. After Mike singled in a run, Caban and Ferdi followed with consecutive RBI doubles. The Saints answered back when Eric drove in a run in the 4th and Vic drove in another in the 5th. In the 6th, the Emperors put the game out of reach when Caban singled in a run and Ferdi hit a 2 run HR for the 6-2 victory.

Saints: Vic (2-4, 2 Singles, 1 RBI)


Gold 7 – Saints 1:

The Gold continued their hot start to the 2017 season by dominating the Saints in this match-up. This game was tied at one after two innings of play before the Gold exploded with four runs in the bottom of the 3rd. The inning was highlighted with RBI doubles from Carlito and Chuchi. Two innings later, the Gold added two more runs when Carlito and Lou singled in a run each. The Saints continued their early season struggles and fell to a win less 0 – 6 start to the young season.

Gold: Carlito (2-3, 2 Doubles, 3 RBIs)    Dusty (3-4, 1 Triple, 1 RBI)

Saints: Josh (2-3, 1 Single, 1 Double)


Sugar Hill 2 – Silver Bullets 0:

This match-up was full of defense as both teams battled for seven innings. All of the scoring came in the 3rd inning. Ralph started the rally with a 1 out double. With 2 outs, Angel came through with and RBI single to start the scoring. Will followed with an RBI single of his own to give Sugar Hill a 2 run lead. This was all the scoring that was needed for the win as the Silver Bullets struggled at the plate by combining for only four hits.

Gold 6 – Diamondbacks 0:

This is getting repetitive, but what else can you say about Gold’s HOT start to this season. Once again they dominated their opponent. One thing that is consistent with this team is the numbers put up by their lead off hitter, Pito. He was driving in the runs as he plated two runs with a triple in the 3rd inning. He later added another RBI in the 5th inning when he drove in Josh with two outs. Gold’s final two runs came in the 6th when Chuchi hit a 2 run home-run to put an exclamation mark on the scoreboard. The Diamondbacks only had two strikeouts in this game and accounted for 6 hits as a team,  but couldn’t get an extra base hit in the loss.
