Saints 3 – Ravens 7:
The Ravens hosted the Saints on field 2. This game featured two teams who struggled to get into the win column in week 1. A positive note for this game wad that one of these teams will get some points in the standings. The offense for both sides showed up early. In the top of the 1st inning, Pete and Raul hit back to back singles with two outs. Victor finished the job with an RBI single to give the Saints a 1 – 0 lead. The Ravens answered right back. In the bottom half of the 1st inning, the Ravens started off their day with back to back singles by Dax and Mick. Jeremy and Nelson both hit RBI singles to give the Ravens a 2 – 1 lead. Chago followed that up with a 2 RBI single but he was caught trying to reach second. Danny hit a double to keep the hitting parade going and Efrain drove him in with an RBI single, making the score 5 – 1. By the end of the first, both teams combined for 10 hits. This was a good sign since both teams struggled to reach base in week 1. Both offenses cooled down for the next two innings but in the top half of the 4th inning, the Saints stuck again. Marcos hit a single and Lenny drove him in with an RBI double. In the bottom half of the 5th, the Ravens would get that run back. With two outs, Mick hit a double and Jeremy drove him in with an RBI single. Nelson followed this up with a single and Chago added to the score with an RBI single. The Saints tried to get something going in the 6th inning but they were only able to score 1 run. The Ravens went on to win 7 – 3, improving their record to 1 – 2.

Sugar Hill 3 – Diamondbacks 0:
The Diamondbacks hosted Sugar Hill on field 3. This game featured two 1 – 1 teams looking to keep the momentum from week 1 going. This game was surprisingly low scoring. Sugar Hill is known for their offensive fire power but were scoreless through 4 innings. The Diamondbacks did not take advantage of a struggling Sugar Hill offense. Heading into the 5th inning, the game was scoreless. In the top half of the 5th inning, Sugar Hill put together several two out hits. Tony Baez woke up his team with a solo home run, putting Sugar Hill on the board. Danny followed this up with a single and Nico drove him in with an RBI double. Ralph drove in Nico with a RBI single, giving Sugar Hill a 3 – 0 lead. Three runs was all Sugar Hill needed, as the Diamondbacks just could not get their offense going.

Silver Bullets 7 – Emperors 2:
The Emperors hosted the Silver Bullets on field 1. These two teams have been affiliated with each other for years and this rivalry is one that may be one of the best for the next several years. The Silver Bullets answered first as Austin got the sticks going with a triple. AJ, son of Anthony Rosado on the Emperors, drove in Austin with an RBI single. The Emperors answered right back as Vido led off with a single. Caban drove him in with a big RBI double. Eric added another run with an RBI single, giving the Emperors a 2-1 lead after 1 inning. In the top half of the 2nd inning, Dave and Jay hit back to back singles to start off the inning. Vic beat out a double play which scored 1 run. Jayden Ayala`s first at bat as a Bullet was a single. With runners on first and second, David Jr. and Austin hit back to back RBI singles, making the score 5 – 2. After a quiet 3rd and 4th inning, the Silver Bullets struck again. AJ and Russel started off the top of the 5th inning with back to back singles. Dave drove in AJ with an RBI double. Jay drove in Russel with an RBI single as well. This made the score 7 – 2 and that will turn out to be the final score. The Emperors could not find their offense this game as they lose 7 – 2. The Silver Bullets improved to a 1 – 2 record as the Emperors dropped to a 2 – 1 record.

Saints 2 – Royals 5:
The Royals hosted the Saints on field 3. This game featured two teams headed in two different directions. The Ravens just came off a blow out loss and were hoping to bounce back in-game 2. The Saints are looking to end a 3 game skid. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Kevin hit a double and Ralphy brought him in with an RBI single. In the top of the 3rd inning, The Saints got on the score sheet. Marcos led off the inning with a single and Jeremy hit into a fielder`s choice. With two outs and a runner at first, Rae hit a clutch RBI double. In the top half of the 4th, the Saints struck again. Pete led off with a double and Vic drove him in with a sacrifice fly, making the score 2 – 1. The Royals decided to wake up in the bottom half of the inning. With two outs, the Royals` put together several hits to retake the lead. Ralphy hit a single and Jonathan drove him in with an RBI double. Adam followed the double with an RBI single, making the score 2 – 3. In the bottom half of the 5th inning, Chey and Frankie hit back to back singles and Eric followed their hits with an RBI single of his own. In the bottom half of the 6th inning, substitution, Chritsian, led off the inning with a single. Chey moved him over with a single and Frankie drove him in with an RBI single. This gave the Royals a 2 – 5 lead and the Royals went on to hold on to this lead.

Royals: Frankie (3-4, 2 Singles, 1 Double, 1 RBI), Ralphy (2-3, 2 Singles, 1 RBI)
Diamondbacks 0 – Silver Bullets 0:
The Silver Bullets hosted the Diamondbacks on field 2. When you look at this score, you have to wonder, was this a game of intense defense or just bad offense? Well, there was a little of both in this one. The Diamondbacks put the ball in play but couldn’t find any gaps or holes to get enough players on base as they amassed a total of 6 hits. Schenkel was the only Diamondbacks player to achieve an extra base hit when he hit a 2 out double in the 7th. He was stranded there as his team couldn’t bring him in. The Bullets on the other hand, stranded several runners in this game. David was 3-4 in the lead off spot, including two doubles, but was stranded each time. The Silver Bullets accounted for 12 hits, four of them were extra base hits.

Emperors 14 – Ravens 2:
The Ravens Hosted the Emperors on field 3. Okay, so if you know anything about the NYESL, you can probably take a guess on which field this game was played. Yes, that’s right, Field #3, what is known as the hitter’s field. The Ravens haven’t had much success on this field so far. The Emperors set the tone by jumping out to a commanding 6 run lead in the top of the 1st inning. Vido started the game with a single and was followed by 6 more hits, 4 of which were doubles. The Emperors added 5 more runs in the 2nd inning and another 3 runs in the 4th to complete the mercy rule. The Ravens scored two runs, and accounted for 7 hits but weren’t able to put them together to keep up.

Gold 3 – Leland Legends 4:
The Leland Legends hosted the Gold on field 2. If there was a game to watch this past Sunday, other than that awesome kids game (of course), this was a good one to see. Gold scored 1 run in the top of the 1st to take an early lead when Dusty drove in Pito. Leland rallied in the bottom of the inning to take the lead when Andrew drove in two runners with a 2 out double. Leland extended the lead when Angel singled in Freddy from 2nd to make the score 3-1 after two innings. The Gold quickly answered with 2 runs in the next inning to tie the game. Carlito and Lou drove in a run each that inning. Edwin gave Leland the lead when he beat out a grounder to single and drove in the go ahead run in the bottom of the 5th. Gold rallied in the top of the 7th when Pito doubled with 2 outs. Papo followed with a shot to the outfield which ricocheted off the tree in left and caught by Petey for the final out.

Leland Legends 1 – Sugar Hill 5:
Sugar Hill hosted the Leland Legends on field 1. This game featured two teams coming off a win earlier in the day. Both teams had a good week 1 and started off week 2 on a good note. In the bottom half of the 3rd inning, scored two runs as Eccy hit a single and Nico hit a double. With runners on second and third base, Ralph hit a 2 RBI double. In the next inning, Will and TJ hit back to back singles. Eccy drove in Will on a fielder`s choice. In a 3 – 0 game, Leland made some noise in the top half of the 5th inning. Jake and Rade both hit a single and Eddie F. followed that up with an RBI double but Sugar Hill answered right back. In the bottom half of the 5th inning, Ralph and Eric Jr. hit back to back doubles and Cooks joined the hit parade with an RBI single. In the bottom of the 6th inning, TJ hit a double and Nico put the finishing touches with an RBI single. Leland`s offense was non existent this game so they drop to 2 – 2 while Sugar Hill improved to 3 – 1.
